About the speaker

BONGSU PARK

Bongsu Park is a Korean multidisciplinary artist based in London. Her practice spans sculpture, installation, performance, video, painting and audience participation, engaging with themes of memory, dream, birth, death, and the cyclical nature of life. Deeply rooted in Korean cultural traditions and philosophical inquiry, her work creates immersive, meditative spaces that encourage reflection and collective experience.

Her 2025 Janhyang series is a combination of paintings relating to the phenomenon of reverberation. It refers to the lingering scent that remains in a space for a certain amount of time, as well as the echoing sound that continues after the original sound has stopped. This term does not merely describe a phenomenon; it encompasses the sensory traces that persist within space and time, implying both the evidence that something once ‘existed’ and the emotional state left behind.

Park studied Fine Art at Sangmyung University in Seoul, the École des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, and completed her MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. Her work has been presented internationally at institutions and events such as Zona Maco (Mexico City), FIAC (Paris), The Moving Image Istanbul, LOOP Barcelona, Camden Arts Centre, Gallery Rosenfeld, and The Coronet Theatre in London. She has also participated in international residencies and received support from Arts Council Korea and other cultural institutions.
