About the speaker

Johnny Smith is a screenwriter, author, and creative consultant whose work spans film, television, and publishing.

He is the co-creator of Disney's animated feature Gnomeo & Juliet and the acclaimed British comedy Mike Bassett: England Manager. His television writing credits include some of the UK's most beloved family series, including Danger Mouse, Dennis and Gnasher, and Muddle Earth.

In addition to his screenwriting career, Johnny is the author of the John Smith Is Not Boring children's book series, published by Scholastic. Through his work as a script consultant, he also mentors writers and helps develop stories for film and television.

Known for his wit, imagination, and distinctive storytelling, Johnny brings decades of experience creating characters and narratives that resonate with audiences of all ages. He lives in London with his wife and two daughters.
