Josh Romm is a global brand strategist and business development leader with 30 years’ experience in brand licensing and IP monetization. Mr. Romm is currently Head of Global Licensing & Partnerships for The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he is charged with extending the reach of The Met globally, enriching people’s lives through art, sparking creativity and conversations about art, civilization, and world culture.
Under Mr. Romm’s leadership The Met licensing program has tripled in size, spanning multiple lifestyle categories and strategic partnerships including Pacsun, Camilla, Samsung, LEGO, Starbucks, Ann Gish, and Eichholtz furniture, winner of best global license 2024 in Home Décor. Mr. Romm also currently serves on the board of directors of Licensing International.
Mr. Romm has held executive roles at major entertainment studios, licensing agencies, and cultural institutions, where he has achieved precedent-setting results for some of the world's most valued brands. Prior to his role at The Met, he oversaw consumer product licensing and promotions for The Smithsonian Institution. He has held key management positions in a similar capacity at Warner Bros. Consumer Products International, IMG-Endeavor, and Mattel. A recognized leading expert in licensing for nonprofits and museums, Mr. Romm has been a feature speaker and panelist at licensing conferences around the world.
Mr. Romm received his MBA in Marketing from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, a BA in Psychology from Binghamton University, and completed graduate coursework in Marketing Analytics at MIT.
