About the speaker

DAVID GRYN

David Gryn, curator, producer, consultant, educator & advisor specializing in film, video, digital, and time-based media. Founder: Artprojx (2003-2015), Artprojx Space (2007-8), Daata Editions (2015-25), empowering artists in film, video, and digital media through curatorial programs, exhibitions, and sales platforms. And now Interval (2025 - ), a new project gallery space, set in a exquisitely restored Georgian house, in the heart of London’s historic Clerkenwell, launching with its first exhibition “NOBLEcurve” by LA-based artist Petra Cortright, featuring 12 new digital paintings on aluminium with a sublimely beautiful video work, alongside several rare old master artworks, that inspired her work. Interval is founded and curated by father and son, David and Jacob Gryn, dedicated to bringing leading contemporary artist’s work together with historic artworks, exploring aesthetic dialogues, ideas and connections between the works, as well as the Georgian building, its history and neighbourhood. http://interval-clerkenwell.art


Curator: Film & Sound programs for global art fairs, including Art Basel Miami Beach (2010–2018), featuring artists from over 300 galleries annually. Collaborations: partnered with leading museums, galleries, and fairs worldwide, including Tate, Hauser & Wirth, Gagosian, Art Basel, Armory Show, LOOP Barcelona, and more. 


Artprojx: produced artists’ film screenings and live events at venues like Prince Charles Cinema, London, and international art fairs. Exhibited works by Bill Viola, Christian Marclay, Sarah Morris, and more.


Artprojx Space: operated a pop-up gallery showcasing exhibitions and screenings by artists such as David Blandy, Jane Bustin, and Aura Satz.


Daata:  Commissioned and supported innovative digital art projects with artists like Rashaad Newsome, Petra Cortright, Jeremy Couillard, Chloe Wise and Keiken. A pioneering digital art platform commissioning video, sound, AR, and NFTs. NFT/Ai Projects include Damien Roach (NFT/AI), Rosie Gibbens (NFT/Merch), and AES+F (AR Book).


Curatorial Projects & Collaborations

Art Basel Miami Beach: Curated large-scale film and sound programs, incorporating artists like Dara Birnbaum, Mark Wallinger and Nathalie Djurberg.

Major Art Fairs: Partnered with Independent NY, Frieze, NADA, and Art Rio to feature time-based media.

Museums & Cultural Institutions: Supported exhibitions and events at MoMA NY, Hammer Museum, Bass Museum, and Tate.

Notable Artists Worked With

Video/Film: William Kentridge, Tracey Emin, Larry Achiampong, Petra Cortright, and Jacolby Satterwhite.

Live Performances: Ragnar Kjartansson, Christian Marclay, and Grace Ndiritu.
