Jim Salicrup is a highly respected comic book editor, writer, and publisher with a storied career spanning decades in the comics industry. He began his journey at Marvel Comics at the age of 15, where he eventually rose to prominence as editor of major titles including The Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and The Uncanny X-Men. During his tenure, Salicrup played a key role in launching The Transformers comic and was instrumental in bringing fan-favorite talent like Todd McFarlane to Marvel’s most iconic series.
After leaving Marvel, Salicrup continued shaping the industry at Topps Comics as Editor-in-Chief and later joined Stan Lee Media, where he collaborated on early efforts to bring comic storytelling to the web. He then became Editor-in-Chief at Papercutz, a publisher dedicated to graphic novels for younger readers, where he oversaw the revitalization of beloved series like Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and The Smurfs, broadening the reach of comics to new generations.
